About Business Coach Cheryl A. Clausen

Cheryl has worked with individuals and organization’s developing knowledge, skills, and experiences immediately beneficial to the small to medium business environment for over twenty years.  She was “coaching” people long before it was a commonly recognized and proven skill eagerly sought out because of the results driven impact coaching produces.

She works exclusively with businesses in the service industry.  Her clients have typically been in business at least four years and feel a little stuck or perhaps stagnate.  They see there’s so much more, they believe they’re capable of achieving more, and they want one-on-one help getting where they want to be.  They have a great deal of pride and aren’t afraid of hard work.  They’re unafraid of and willing to take action.  In fact, sometimes they’re so focused on action they lose sight of effectiveness.

She’s as concerned with her client’s success as they are because she believes her success is directly proportional to their success.

There are definitely parallels between Cheryl and her clients.  Cheryl has always demonstrated her belief the degree with which you’ll succeed is directly proportional to the actions you take.

She doesn’t hesitate to align herself with the people who know what she doesn’t know, and gain the knowledge and skills she needs to succeed.

She has an uncanny ability to take massive amounts of information and ideas adapting them to better fit the needs of the situation converting those ideas and information into systems to consistently, predictably, and profitably produce results.  She shares those systems with her clients.

Cheryl has found it’s never just a sales issue when businesses aren’t where they want to be.  Consequently, she’s developed a coaching model to fit the needs of her clients.  Her model closes the gap between the other options and what her clients need.

Books are always a great resource.  They are self-study tools benefiting many.  The downside with books is they’re topic specific, and don’t provide the help needed to transfer knowledge into the real world applications needed by the business owner.

Mentors have provided a great start for many professionals.  A mentor shows you how they do it so you’ll be able emulate them and do it too.  A concern with mentoring is you only learn what the mentor thinks works, and you make the same mistakes the mentor makes.

Training teaches you how to do things in a classroom type setting.  Training programs are based on fixed content.  The content of most training programs is reactive to symptoms, and doesn’t address the underlying root causes creating those symptoms.  It’s usually difficult to transfer what seems to work so well in the classroom to the real world.  Your prospect hasn’t read the play book and doesn’t know their part.  One of the most frustrating things for those who’ve participated in training programs is the realization that training is an incomplete solution you buy over and over again.

Coaching gets you to take the actions yourself rather than teaching you about the actions.  Your coach helps you through the trials, errors, and successes of the success process.  Depending on the coach some coach’s work based on the specific needs of the prospect and some work from a program.

With all these considerations in mind when Cheryl developed her unique Increase Sales Coaching model she took a holistic approach because it’s never just a sales issue.  She works with her clients helping them to develop a clear focus and direction.  She helps them identify the underlying root cause so they aren’t wasting precious resources treating symptoms.  Together they develop systems specific to the clients business making it easier to achieve success with fewer mistakes along the way.  Perhaps most importantly she works with her clients helping them develop their own best way to achieve the success they want.
She’s also a recognized author with well over 400 published articles on the topics of time management, marketing, sales, leadership, and strategic planning.  She’s a regular contributor to Salesopedia, Top 10 Sales Articles, Sales Gravy, and Top Sales Dog.  Plus she’s writes a column in The Heartland Messenger.

She’s a also recognized expert with Perfect Business and one of the Top Sales Experts.
